Janie Dalrymple

Founder

About:
Janie grew up in Indiana and obtained her nursing degree from Purdue University. She has experience working as a bedside nurse with a cardiac stepdown unit and stroke unit, as well as home health care. She was the Clinic Coordinator for the ALS Clinic at Mayo Clinic, where she has a distinct love for taking care of those patients afflicted with ALS. After her husband died unexpectedly, she decided to start her own business. It wasn't until she advocated at her mother's bedside where she decided to begin Your Patient's Advocate, making sure others don't have to endure the shortcomings of the healthcare system like her mother did. Her goal is to treat every client as if they were part of her family, and she strives to add team members giving the same high standard of care.

Special Interests:
When she isn't advocating for clients, she loves spending time planning a destination wedding with her fiance, Ryan, playing with her Great Dane puppy, Briggs, or soaking up any time she spends with three energetic nieces!

Lynn Boyer

Patient Advocate

About:
Lynn grew up and graduated from nursing school in Kansas City. (Go Chiefs!) She enjoyed fulfilling careers in both travel technology and in nursing. After retiring, she found pleasure in community volunteer work, including hosting a weekly recorded broadcast for SunSounds of Arizona, an on-line service that provides audio access to print information to people who cannot read or hold print material due to a disability. She also provided administrative support at the Chandler Center for the Arts. As a Patient Advocate, Lynn likes to work with clients to improve understanding and compliance with providers' recommendations. She enjoys prepping clients for doctor visits so that appointment time is used more efficiently. And she helps clients understand how to measure and report treatment results.

Special Interests:
When time (and the CDC recommendations) allow, Lynn enjoys traveling to visit friends and family in the US, Canada and Europe. While at home, Lynn loves to knit and crochet, go to restaurants with friends and catch new movies.

Brittany Minor

About:
Brittany has been working in community mental health services for over a decade in the metro Phoenix area. She employs a wealth of knowledge on community resources to benefit those she serves with regard to mental health services, peer services, food resources, clothing, shelter and financial assistance. Brittany has case managed some of the most challenging cases in the state, towards more positive outcomes for those clients. Born and raised in the Detroit area, she came to Phoenix while in her undergraduate studies to complete her BA in Psychology at ASU and went on to receive her Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from Argosy University locally.

With her free time, Brittany is a dedicated mother to two young children, and maintains a personal yoga practice.

Rondo Smith

About:
Rondo has been a Registered Respiratory Therapist for 28 years, specializing in ALS for the last 17 years. She began her career working in hospitals in both general and intensive care. She also moved into home care, where she helped patients with their respiratory home care needs and became a manager. This was where she was given the opportunity to work for an ALS clinic. She has a deep passion for helping those in need by listening, educating, supporting, and being a voice for them when needed.

Rondo enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors as much as possible, and visiting with & caring for mini-pigs.

Angie Tigges

Director of Client Relations

About:
Angie has been in the healthcare industry for just over 20 years. She grew up in Iowa. She graduated with a Bachelors degree and carries a license in Recreation Therapy. She has experience working in the hospital, residential setting, group home, rehab facility, and in home care. Her career started working as a therapist with severe and profound children in a skilled nursing facility in Des Moines, IA. She quickly moved up into management and managed 6 group homes in Cincinnati. After 3 years working as a program manager, she accepted a job at a residential locked facility where she was chosen to help build therapeutic programs from the ground up for adolescents and young children that were abused and neglected. After 6 years, she moved to Phoenix and worked at Phoenix Children's Hospital on the inpatient psychiatry unit. At this point, Angie was a mom herself.

Still enjoying working and advocating for patients, Angie took a leap of faith and started working for St. Joseph's Hospital on the Neuro Rehab unit. This experience not only tested her ability to keep the treatment plan on track, but also showed her how much she enjoyed working with and advocating for adults. While working at St. Joseph's Hospital, Angie was asked to work contract for The ALS Association. She accepted and started creating adapted quality of life programs for ALS patients and their families. Soon Angie came on full time as a Care Service Coordinator to accommodate a better schedule for her children. Angie managed a hefty ALS case load which included home visits, attending clinics, support groups, advocating, finding available resources, and maintaining amazing relationships with her patients and families.

As the Director of Client Relations, Angie looks forward to and is excited to help many, many people with their healthcare journey by supporting, nurturing, and guiding you every step of the way.

Dawn Rodriquez

About:
Dawn was born in Norman, OK. She is the granddaughter of two beautiful humans who live with end-stage Lewy body dementia and Alzheimer's. She is an Army veteran who comes from a long line of veterans of all branches who have served our country. She spent her nursing career in Medical/Surgical, Progressive Care Cardiovascular, and Home Health services. For the last two years she has dedicated absorbing as much as she can about AHCCCS and Medicare Advantage products and services. Her ultimate goal is to ensure the services available are being utilized in the capacity that best benefits the recipient.

Special Interests:
Dawn is the mother of four wonderful children, and she fills her time learning to navigate gender-confirming treatments.

"I want to give a voice to the voiceless; The humans in this world who feel like nobody cares. I care. I am still here, fighting the good fight, one person at a time."

Salina Bednarek

Salina Bednarek is a nurse, educator, and leader in higher education. Salina began her career as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Intensive Care unit and transitioned over the years to a highly specialized cardiac nurse caring for transplant and surgery clients. Salina spent the last 15 years dedicated to her true passion, nursing education. She is a Clinical Associate Professor at Arizona State University and continues to practice in complex care environments.

Jenny Knorr

About:
Jenny grew up in Wisconsin. She loves the friendliness of the Midwest and summertime. Unfortunately, winter is long, cold, and not much fun as an adult. In search of sun and warmer weather, Jenny and her husband decided to move their family of 6 to Arizona about 8 years ago. She has worked in healthcare her entire adult life. She started her career as a CNA (certified nursing assistant) on a busy med/surg floor while obtaining her Licensed Practical Nurse degree. She has enjoyed caring for and learning about a wide variety of patients in the hospital, outpatient clinic, and skilled nursing facilities. In 2021, she accomplished a major life goal by completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has witnessed the challenges patients and families face while trying to understand their diagnosis and navigate the healthcare system. In 2020 her dad became the most important patient she's ever advocated for, when he was diagnosed with ALS. Through this extremely difficult diagnosis he received necessary treatments/equipment because she never stopped advocating for him.

Jenny loves spending as much time as possible with her husband, 4 kids, and 2 dogs. They enjoy the outdoors, playing games, traveling, camping, and cheering on their favorite sports teams.

Mailinda Stinde

Graduated in 2008 with my Associate's degree in nursing. I have spent most of my career working in med/surg, ortho, post-surgical, and trauma. I have been a travel nurse for the past six years in med/surg and ER. I am finishing my master’s degree, in family nurse practitioner, and am scheduled to graduate in May 2023.

Special Interests:
I have two grown children, two cats, and many furry grandbabies. I love spending time with my family, and we love to travel. We have traveled to many places here in the states, but I would love to start traveling abroad.

Mary Ellen Joseph

About:
Mary Ellen has 31 year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant working in all settings – from acute care, ICU, and assisted-living facilities, to outpatient neurology and orthopedic clinics. Under the direction of a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Mary Ellen has treated multiple clients with various diagnoses including joint replacements, spine surgeries, multi-trauma, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, and all levels of brain injury. She incorporates stretching and conscious breathing in all of her sessions, especially since she knows as a certified Yoga teacher any level of yoga “practice” is beneficial.

Mary Ellen loves doing volunteer work with Horse’s Help, a therapeutic riding stable for all levels of physical and emotional disabilities, as well as with the Scottsdale Fire Department and their hands-only CPR and Home Safety programs.

She loves to hike, bike, do yoga, and read non-fiction.

Beth Oelkers

Beth is a graduate of Purdue University and started her career as a kindergarten teacher. After caring for her aging parents she chose nursing as a second career. She received her nursing degree from ASU's Edson College of Nursing. In addition to her teaching and nursing degrees, she also has a Master's in Psychology. It's in Beth's DNA to care for people and she enjoys her role as a Patient Advocate. She has experience working in Med-Surg hospital bedside nursing, memory care facility nursing, private practice nursing and patient advocacy.

Beth is originally from Indiana and has lived in the Phoenix area for 27 years. Her daughter is a medical doctor and her son is a software engineer. She enjoys traveling with her husband of 30 years and is part of numerous book clubs.

Deboni Park

Deboni has experience in healthcare administration support, pediatric sleep technology, hospice coordination, and in-home caregiving. Her journey to patient advocacy was initiated in 2012 when her father was diagnosed with ALS. Since that time, Deboni has had the opportunity to support many individuals facing a life-altering illness in navigating the healthcare system. Deboni completed her Bachelor of Science in Health Services Coordination in 2021.

Barbara Cleary

About:
Barb grew up in a Cleveland Ohio suburb. She moved to Arizona just before her senior year of high school.

She started her 41 year Nursing career at a small rural Hospital in Montana after completing Nursing School in Phoenix. She has experience in Long-term Care, Med-Surg, Home Health, Neurology and Emergency Response.

Barb and her husband have 2 children and a grandson who is the light of their life!

Barb has ben an Advocate for many family members and friends so continuing in that role comes naturally.

Special Interests:
In her free time Barb enjoys golf, spending time with friends, cooking and staying active in her Church. She also loves spending time outdoors and around horses.

Cydney Sheley

My name is Cydney Sheley I am a mother of 3 (all grown and out of the house), I am a veteran and I have been in nursing for 37 years but for the last 22 years I have dedicated my career to Oncology and End of Life care.
I am very passionate about patient advocacy, educating patient’s and love ones so they feel supported and in control and being able to help patients navigate their disease journey whether it be towards a cure, a life long illness or the humbling journey home ( however the patient defines their final resting place).
I hold advance certification in Bone Marrow Transplant for blood cancers and in End of Life care.

Michele Pittman

About:
Born and raised in Connecticut, I relocated to Arizona to attend school. I earned my interpreter’s certificate in American Sign Language Interpretation and my Associates in Interdisciplinary Studies from Phoenix College and continued my education at Arizona State University where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.

I am a Mom, Sister, and an Aunt in a family of all girls. My daughter lives in Glendale, my sister in Ohio and my nieces are both in college. I have a love for animals especially dogs and have a Dane named Buster.

When I am not working, I can be found working in my yard, doing home improvement projects, spending time with my friends. I enjoy running, attending concerts, going to comedy shows and reading a good book.

Special Interests:
I volunteer as a CASA for the State of Arizona and am also a non-medical home companion for seniors.

Erin Snyder

About:
I was born in Iowa and grew up going back and forth between Arizona and Iowa. I always knew that I wanted to be a nurse, and have several family members that are nurses, including my mother. My aunt told me that I needed to try multiple disciplines to see what suited me best. I have spent several years working in hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. I spent 4 years in Primary Care at Mayo Clinic, and 3 years in Dermatology. I have since transitioned to working in home health and training for care management. I truly enjoy it and am loving it. I like being able to build a rapport with clients. I love helping people, and have always been a nurturer by nature.

Special Interests:
When I am not working, my son and I are out trying new things. We love ice skating, going to the aquarium, and visiting with friends. When it is cooler outside, we love playing with our horses and taking them on walks.
